Valentine’s Day 2014
I like V Day! Who doesn’t enjoy watching everyone walk around with big, moony smiles on their faces for one day a year? Commercialised it may be, but damnit, it makes people squeal and smile so I’m all for it.
If you like it too, here are a few ideas for Valentine’s Day in Brisbane.
Stuff your face at Alchemy – Feb 14
Arguably one of Brisbane’s best restaurants, Alchemy has created a couple of special V-Day menus. Their five course degustation is $120 per person, or $170 per person including wine.
Still not swaying you? The menu includes crab and pork belly. Done! Visit Alchemy’s website for more info.
Cupid’s Undie Run – Feb 9
No, this isn’t code name for some sick bedroom activities – it’s a fun run (just 1.5km) benefiting the Children’s Tumour Foundation of Australia. Basically, you strip down to your jocks and run – that’s pretty much it. If you’ve got a nice bum, I’m sure you’ll pick up a phone number or two as well. For more info check out the website.
Get Ballin’ at Capulet – 14 Feb
New Valley bar Capulet are holding an ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ ball on V-Day. Dress up, wear a mask, make a new friend in the photo booth…or splurge a little on the VIP Cupid’s Booths. Prices start from $20; contact Capulet for more info.
Find a match at Limes – 14 Feb
Swanky rooftop bar Limes is holding a Tinder party. What’s Tinder? I had to google it too, don’t worry – it’s basically online dating, but sleazier. Cool. Entry is free – more info on facebook.
